SUMMARY
Midmay Films is a super 8 videography studio with a focus on timeless, nostalgic, and cinematic stories. Together, we brought to life a space that showcased the warm and nostalgic experience the studio provides to its clients along with its dreamy approach to storytelling.

Behind The Design
Much like the rest of the brand story, the primary logo’s serif font is inspired by French New Wave poster text and French typography within the 18th century. . . establishing a cinematic and timeless foundation for Midmay Films. The M and F are a tad larger than the remaining letters as an ode to historical drop caps used within medical books and manuscripts, as well as within silent film dialogue quotes - once again adding more touches of nostalgia, cinema notes, and romance.
Decorative frames and calling card text is used frequently within the brand story as well, reminiscent of those encompassing dialogue inter titles. These quotes within silent films were used to narrate the viewer throughout the story, further symbolizing how Midmay Films narrates a couple’s wedding day through film.

Behind The Website
Midmay Films’ website was crafted to invite viewers into a dreamlike space. The typography composition was inspired by film screenplays with little nodes to scene headings, fade ins, transitions, dialogue, and so on. Framed dialogue cards are incorporated to further the cinematic and silent film nods, used to narrate the viewer throughout the pages while adding bits of play.
